Research & Writing
With training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, I offer in-depth, data driven analytical skills. My research has focused on two main areas: global development and the digital economy. My writing has also appeared in a number of publications, including the Council on Foreign Relations blog, The Los Angeles Times, and The Santa Fe New Mexican.
Digital Evolution Index
In partnership with Mastercard, I worked with a team at The Fletcher School to study the pace of digital evolution of 24 countries in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. Measuring across four key drivers (supply, demand, institutional environment, and innovation), the study utilized data over 10 years (2008-2017) to create an overall digital evolution score and digital momentum score. In the end, our work provided actionable insights for Mastercard on how they can best take advantage of this growing market.
Econometric Impact Evaluation of MCC Burkina Faso Education Program
In a short-term consultancy with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), I worked to measure the impact of the Burkinabé Response to Improve Girls’ Chances to Succeed (BRIGHT) program. We used a regression discontinuity design technique to evaluate the impact of the program on different Math and French learning outcomes. We also evaluated how the program affected different genders and age groups. In November 2018, we presented our findings and recommendations to MCC at a full-day colloquium.
